The Reel Wood Spinosaurus is a large hand crafted wooden toy, carved from a single piece of sustainably certified American White Oak, with a natural oil finish. Cutting this shape from a single piece of wood means the beautiful wood grains run all the way through the shape – it has a true heirloom look and feel.
Beryl’s special skills include swimming and fishing. Although weighing three times as much as an elephant and having a HUGE spinal sail means it’s kind of hard to do either of those inconspicuously!
Both eco-friendly and plastic free, this Spinosaurus toy is great for children with an interest in dinosaurs and works wonderfully in a set with other Reel Wood Dinosaurs. The stunning details are hand engraved using a high powered laser, making for a very tactile feel that is great for sensory play. Its thick cut makes it very easy to stand and build exciting scenes that encourage open ended, Waldorf style play.
It is also brilliant for STEM education. Include it in your favourite story sacks, draw around it, press it into sand, include it in space projects – the learning opportunities are limitless.
