This Grimm’s Red Birthday Celebration Spiral is a beautiful alternative to a Waldorf ring, made up of eight pieces with 24 holes to fill with decorative figures and candles – candle holders are required. The pieces come in warm tones, spiralling down from purple to red, orange and yellow. This spiral measures 40cm in diameter and is made with FSC limewood and finished with non-toxic, water-based colour stain. Candles measuring 1.4cm in diameter will fit the candle holders required for this ring.

Slot in candles and colourful numbers, letters and characters into the holes that are relevant to the special event and can be used as a discussion point for your family. For each birthday, add a candle and a new personalised ornament and, as the years pass and the slots become filled with candles, move the ornaments into the centre. You needn’t hide your Grimm’s celebration ring away, only bringing it out for parties: these traditional decorations can also be used throughout the year as a centre piece on your dinner table. Twelve-hole rings can be used to mark each passing month, and seven-hole rings can be used to count down to the weekend.
