The Black+Blum Eau Good Glass Water Bottle uses traditional Japanese Binchotan charcoal to naturally filter tap water and improve its taste. The 650ml hand-blown glass bottle is fitted with a stainless steel coil to hold the charcoal in place, ensuring your water stays clean, pure and full of minerals like magnesium and iron.
Each bottle includes a recycled polyester protective sleeve for grip and insulation, a wood fibre and polypropylene leakproof lid, and a single charcoal stick that lasts up to 6 months. Designed to be reused daily, this stylish bottle helps reduce reliance on single-use plastic and makes tap water taste great.
The bottle is made from hand-blown glass. The lid is made from a wood fibre and BPA-free polypropylene blend with a stainless steel cap and silicone seal. The protective sleeve is made from recycled polyester, and the filtration system includes a stainless steel coil and one active Binchotan charcoal stick.

How does Binchotan charcoal filter water?Binchotan has a porous surface that attracts contaminants like chlorine and traps them. It also releases beneficial minerals such as magnesium and iron, improving both taste and quality.
How is Binchotan charcoal made?It’s created through a high-heat charring process using sustainably sourced wood. After a long, slow burn in a kiln, the charcoal is heated to over 1000°C and then quickly cooled and sealed with a natural earth and ash mixture, giving it its distinctive pale hue.
How much water does each charcoal stick filter?Each stick can filter approximately 1.1L of water per day for around 3 months. After this, you can boil the charcoal to recharge it for another 3 months of use.
Can I use the charcoal with fruit, flavourings, or tea infusions?No. Flavouring your water while using Binchotan is not recommended, as it may interfere with the filtration process.
Is the charcoal safe if ingested?Yes. Small particles are harmless if swallowed. You can rinse them out if you prefer, but there is no risk from accidental consumption.
How do I clean the bottle?Wash the glass bottle with a bottle brush and warm, soapy water. The bottle is dishwasher safe, but the lid should be washed by hand. The silicone seal can be removed and is dishwasher safe. Always remove the charcoal before washing.
What else can I use the charcoal for after filtering water?Once its filtering life is over, Binchotan can be used to deodorise shoes or laundry baskets, add nutrients to plant soil, or absorb moisture as a natural dehumidifier.
