This third set of 26 phonics sounds required for early years reading are slightly trickier phonics designed to follow sets 1 and 2. The information on these learning cards has been developed by Zoe. With many years of primary education teaching experience and as a mum too, she has condensed this wealth of knowledge into each card – these offer so much more than simple flashcards! Made from premium card they are thick durable, and locally printed in Oxfordshire, with smooth rounded edges and a beautiful illustration on one side. The other displays a sound and the following learning prompts organised by colour:
Red – A storytelling prompt or starter. This is great for creative writing later on.
Yellow – A mind hook. This is a phrase supporting the learning and remembering of the sound and help with capital letter recognition.
Green – Nonsense words. These pseudo words are great for phonics games and activities.
Blue – Real words. These can be used in phonics games and activities.
In the box, you’ll find four extra cards included with instructions on how to use each learning element to support your child. The box itself is handmade in Cornwall from robust high-quality card with a magical woodland design with B-Corp responsible foil wording on the front.
